Inspired by my blog’s name I wanted to introduce a new French Fry-themed series. Whenever I eat bomb fries, I will share them on my Insta along with where they’re from. OOTD pics are important and all but what about FFOTD (French Fries of the Day)!! I also think it’d be fun for you to all join in on this new Fry-Day tradition so if you have any unreal fries DM a pic to me or post them using #frenchfriesandthighhighs. Bonus points for a delish shake on the side!
Speaking of fries, have you ever stopped to notice how many types of fries there are in this world? Well I have. I’ve thought about it long and hard. And I have some serious thoughts on some of them.
Shoestring Fries: These are a great side, but not super filling and meaty. Sometimes you want a little more junk in the trunk if you know what I’m sayin'.
Seasoned Waffle Fries: These aren’t necessarily my go-to, but there’s definitely a time and place where these really hit the spot. Non-seasoned waffle fries are also pretty special in my book, I’m looking at you Chick-fil-A!
Crinkle Cut: These make me think of Windmill and remind me of old times where we used to walk from middle school to town and split french fries as a group and pay for them in change. Shout out to all my Westfield, NJ followers! I love pairing these with cheese.
Steak Fries: In my opinion, these are more like potatoes than fries. I’ve always had a thing where I don’t want my fries to be too potato-y (made that word up and you are free to use it moving forward) Also, I’m a vegetarian so steak in the name is a definite con. Can you tell I’m not really a fan? However, no disrespect to those who are.
Classic: I’m a girl who loves her classic fries. There are no surprises with classic fries and I like that. However, I do find that there are many places that can mess these up. My strategy for eliminating this uncertainty is creepily looking at other tables’ fries to see how they look before I place my fry order. Or you can play detective on Yelp and look up fry pics. My favorites are when they have the perfect crisp to inside potato ratio. Again, we don’t want them to be too potato-y.
Fast food fries: For me, these are a special treat that I let myself indulge in every once in awhile. That’s just because I don’t want to let myself go to a fast food chain too often or I am doomed. I especially love these as a drunk and/or hungover snack. My preference order would be Mc Donald's, Wendy's and then Burger King.
